The Locust Valley Fire Department (LVFD) is a volunteer organization comprised of over 100 dedicated men and women from Locust Valley and the surrounding communities who provide fire and rescue services to an area known as the Locust Valley Fire District. The Locust Valley Fire District is a 12 square mile area situated on the Gold Coast of Nassau County, Long Island.
The Locust Valley Fire Department operates 24-hours a day, 365 days a year and has full and part-time on-duty dispatching services. Daily operations are overseen by a chief and three Assistant Chiefs. The department is comprised of six companies made up of three engine companies, one truck company, one heavy rescue, and one EMS company. Together, these units respond to approximately 600 alarms annually.
